The first Free Comic Book Day was held on May 4, 2002, and has remained on May 4th all these years as a way to introduce fans to new titles. This day is also dubbed with the pop culture phrase, “May the 4th be with you,” in reverence by Star Wars fans.<\/p>\n

Free Comic Book Day has been a staple for comic book stores for 17 years, and every year the industry has offered a keen selection of books to their free lineup.
